About Us

K92 Mining Limited are the owners of the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, with the majority of our workforce drawn from local communities. Through targeted social investment programs, K92 is committed to strengthening livelihoods, food security, and long-term socio-economic resilience in our host communities, including beyond mine closure.

About the Role

The Supervisor – Agriculture Projects coordinates and delivers the Sustainable Agriculture and Livelihoods Program (SALP) at the field level. The role works directly with farming households and community cooperatives to improve food security, diversify income sources, and build climate resilience through market-oriented, sustainable agriculture practices. The position supports delivery of MOA commitments and contributes to long-term livelihood sustainability for host communities, including post-mine closure outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

This role is responsible for supervising field-based agricultural delivery, supporting farmer capacity building, and ensuring SALP activities are implemented safely, effectively, and in line with SPMS standards. Key responsibilities include:

Lead Field Delivery of SALP: Coordinate and deliver agriculture and livelihoods activities across coffee, cocoa, fresh produce, apiculture, and agroforestry programs, aligned to SALP phases and annual work plans.

Supervise & Support Extension Teams: Supervise Agricultural Extension Officers, manage daily schedules, provide coaching, and ensure inclusive participation of women and youth in program activities.

Farmer Training & Demonstration Programs: Plan and deliver farmer training, demonstration plots, and community workshops, supporting adoption of climate-smart and improved agricultural practices.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting: Track yields, household income, participation, and environmental outcomes; maintain accurate SPMS records; and provide regular field reports to the Superintendent SALP.

Technical Agriculture Support: Coordinate input distribution, monitor utilization and productivity, support certification pathways, and assist with processing infrastructure such as coffee wet mills, cocoa fermentry and driers,  nurseries,  bee keeping and honey processing, fresh produce post- harvest consolidation, and livestock breeding and distribution center.

Collaboration & Market Integration: Work with Social Development, Business Development, government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners to strengthen cooperatives, market access, and SME participation.

Commitments & Expectations Management: Deliver agriculture-related MOA and CSDP commitments, manage community expectations, maintain grievance mechanisms, and escalate emerging risks or issues as required.

Health, Safety & Environment: Ensure agricultural activities are implemented in accordance with company HSE requirements and promote safe, environmentally responsible field practices.

About You

To be considered for this role, candidates must have strong practical experience delivering agricultural extension programs in rural or community-based environments. In addition, you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agribusiness, or a related discipline, with at least 5 years of experience in agricultural extension or rural development, ideally within Papua New Guinea.
  • Strong technical knowledge of coffee, cocoa, fresh produce, agroforestry, apiculture, and small livestock systems suited to PNG conditions, including climate-smart agriculture and pest and disease management.
  • Practical experience working with farming households and community cooperatives, with exposure to cooperative development, market integration, and value-chain initiatives.
  • Experience supporting organic or quality certification systems for coffee or cocoa is highly desirable.
  • Ability to collect, analyse, and report program data for monitoring, evaluation, and SPMS reporting, including quarterly indicator tracking.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Tok Pisin; local dialects are advantageous.
  • Must have PNG driving License - Class 6
  • Culturally sensitive, community-focused, and able to manage expectations in complex social environments.
  • Committed to ethical, transparent, and accountable program delivery aligned with K92’s values.
