K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate.

About the role

Joining our Commercial team, you will oversee the co-ordination of all K92 Mining import / export cargo movement, and to facilitate clearances through correctly processing all necessary documentation and working with junior staff to ensure they develop their skills and competence. Moreover, this role involves preparation and processing of purchase orders and related documents in line with K92 Mining Limited Supply and Procurement guidelines.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position mean you will

• Ensure all supplies especially critical items required by end users are sourced and purchased and available for use without delay.
• Supervise, support and foster the development of all logistics staff to ensure the prompt delivery of all import / export and warehouse freight.
• Monitor performance of the team to ensure KPIs are consistently achieved
• Set weekly and daily priorities for the team, monitor progress and report on activity and outcomes
• Ensure that all aspects of logistics are undertaken in accordance with established policy and procedures. Ensuring that safety is paramount to all tasks performed.
• Investigate discrepancies and incidents.
• Ensure the timely completion of all tasks for both staff and contractors
• Monitor the delivery of goods and materials to the warehouse ensuring conformation that deliveries are completed to the K92 Mining schedules and plans.
• Liaise with representatives from K92 Mining freight forwarders, all freight contractors, suppliers and end users. Ensure that co- operative working relationships are maintained.
• Finalise account requirements for freight movements to ensure a timely payment of accounts
• Maintain safe work standards and practices in accordance company policy.
• Perform all roles and responsibilities that support and reflect the company’s mission and core values

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have the following

• Advanced user of Pronto Xi Software is essential
• Must be a self-starter, very resourceful and with ability to find solutions.
• Experience communicating with vendors in PNG and internationally
• Experience with storage and handling of Dangerous goods
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Flexible, adaptable and be a team player
• Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Proficient in computer use especially Microsoft suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Mining Industry experience preferred.
