K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

Joining our Commercial team, you will undertake all regular purchasing and administrative duties including updating of purchasing records and pricing system. Another demand defined to this role is regular liaison with both local and overseas Suppliers and Service Providers with the prime objective of quality and on-time delivery of goods and services to meet site operational requirements. Moreover, this role involves preparation and processing of purchase orders and relating documents in line with K92 Mining Limited Supply and Procurement guidelines.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position mean you will

• Ensure all supplies especially critical items required by end users are sourced and purchased and available for use without delay.
• Carry out and monitor all purchasing duties.
• Monitor stock levels based on the usage track record so that essential plant, mobile and light vehicle parts are available
• Prepare and process purchase orders and supporting documents.
• Purchase and issue order in accordance to specification.
• Regular liaison with Warehouse and Logistics team to ensure orders are picked up in the shortest possible time.
• Source, select and negotiate for the best quote price, terms and deliveries with suppliers/service providers.
• Monitor and coordinate delivery of items between suppliers both local and overseas.
• Constant liaison with suppliers on supplies and back orders and for logistical arrangements to site in a safe and timely manner.
• Update and maintain purchasing records/data.
• Maintain regular professional approach with various suppliers and service providers.
• Maintain safe work standards and practices in accordance company policy.
• Perform all roles and responsibilities that support and reflect the company’s mission and core values

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have the following

• A certificate or Diploma in business studies, Accounting or related field preferred but not essential
• Five year’s work experience in a warehouse or purchasing role is well regarded
• Must be a self-starter, very resourceful and with ability to find solutions.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Flexible, adaptable and be a team player
• Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Proficient in computer use especially Microsoft suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Proficient user of Pronto Xi Software is essential.
• Mining Industry experience preferred.
