K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

Reporting to the Site Services Coordinator, this role is responsible for the service and maintenance of heavy diesel equipment (predominantly generators and power stations) in a safe and appropriate manner. The Heavy equipment focus will be on Cummins and MTU Generators but may be called on to work on trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, roller/compactors, bobcats, and other pieces of equipment. Carry out tasks as per PM tasks, breakdowns or for the general operation of the mine maintenance. Maintain safe working practices for subordinates plus staff working environment. Maintain budget and availability targets for all mining equipment.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure efficient, safe, and continuous operation of the underground mine and surface mobile fleet in achieving production targets.
• Repair and maintenance of all company under ground and surface heavy diesel equipment and machinery.
• Give direction, coaching and technical assistance to subordinates.
• Assist to maintain stock levels and place orders as required.
• Conduct general housekeeping at work area.
• Identify and report safety hazards.
• Maintain safety work standards in accordance with government regulations and company policy.
• Perform all roles and responsibilities that support and reflect the company’s mission and core values.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have a NATTB certified Trade Certificate in Heavy Equipment Fitting with 3+ years’ experience in the mining or heavy construction industry. In addition to this, you will have

• Experience in maintenance of diesel generators / power generation equipment
• Experience working in a Mine or Power Station operation.
• Experience with Large Generators for Prime Power Supply for sites.
• Sound communication & technical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Able to work long hours, if required due to breakdowns.
• Sound planning and organizational skills.
