About the role
- Responsible for service and maintenance of heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, compactors, bobcats, and other pieces of equipment.
- Carry out tasks as directed by the Supervisor Workshop or his designate for the general operation of the mine maintenance.
- Maintain safe working practices for subordinates plus staff working environment.
- Maintain budget availability targets of all mining equipment.
Key / Major Accountabilities
- Ensure efficient, safe and continuous operation of the underground mine and surface mobile fleet in achieving production targets.
- Repair and maintenance of all company under ground and surface heavy diesel equipment and machinery.
- Give direction, coaching and technical assistance to subordinates.
- Maintain stock levels and place orders as required.
- Conduct general housekeeping at work area.
- Identify and report safety hazards.
- Maintain safety work standards in accordance with government regulations and company policy.
- Perform all roles and responsibilities that support and reflect the company’s mission and core values.
About You
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you should have;
- Must have NATTB Trade certificate in Heavy Equipment Fitting
- 3 years’ experience in relative technical area.
- Relevant Experience with Underground Mine operation
- Experience with Mining Equipment like Hydraulic Drills, LHD Loaders, Caterpillar Equipment, Sandvik Equipment etc
- Sound communication & technical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Able to work long hours.
- Sound planning and organizational skills.
