About the role

This position is responsible for installation of HDPE pipework ranging in size from 25mm to 700mm and requires the ability to read and interpret installation drawings, written instructions and diagrams in order to perform poly welding joining and fabrication based on the project requirements.  

Key Accountabilities

• Competent in the use of a Butt-welding machine, calculate cooling times to suit size of various pipes
• Set up and operation of fusion welding machines.
• Install new pipe works as detailed instruction, drawing as per the Work Order.
• Install and align pipes in pipe racks and/or other locations on site.
• Ensure that the sections daily work plans are executed as directed.
• Reading and understanding technical drawings and manuals.
• Conduct general housekeeping at work area.
• Identify and report safety hazards.
• Give direction, coaching and technical assistance to Trade Assistant’s and apprentice.

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have a NATTB Trade Certificate or that you have a Certified Poly Welding License and possess some or all the following.

• Grade 10 education
• A current certification or license from poly welding machine manufacturer or qualified trainer.
• 5 years’ experience in relative technical area.
• Sound communication & technical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Sound planning and organization skills.
• Able to work with minimum supervision
