K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

In this role you will assist and support Mine Projects Construction Crew complete all civil and construction work that is required in the 800L and surface areas. This is inclusive of but not limited to concrete pad construction, surface water and air line installations, construction of permanent and temporary office/ablution facilities, including repair and maintenance of these buildings. 

Any other General Duties within the underground mine as required.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Civil and construction work
• Concrete formwork and carpentry
• Construction of Office buildings
• Maintenance/repair of office buildings
• Construction of surface ablution facilities
• Maintenance of surface ablution facilities
• Lifting of equipment and material (25kg)
• Connection of new pipe work to existing services
• Physical activity involving upper arm, shoulder and torso work
• Follow all the safety rules and relevant operating procedures.
• Perform all roles and responsibilities that support and reflect the company’s mission and core values
• Cleaning of equipment and vehicle after use.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you are physically strong and healthy and have minimum Grade 10 level of education. In addition to this you will have some or all the following.

• Vocational training certificate (Carpentry/Welding).
• Has minimum of 3+year experience in similar working environment.
• Ability to read and write both Pidgin and English
• Ability to relate to mine workers comprising different ethnic groups.
• Demonstrated teamwork, adaptability, and responsibility
• Be always very safety conscious and be able to identify risks.
• Must be a local from Mine impact areas.
