K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

Joining our underground mining team, the Cable Bolt Operator is responsible for carrying out cable bolt drilling, installation and other tasks as directed by our Shift Supervisor. Responsibilities also include the safe and efficient installation of Anchor Cables and ground support according to quality specifications.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Install cables where directed.
• Ensure cables are fully encapsulated with the adequate mix of grout.
• Plate and tension cables
• Keep all equipment clean and serviceable.
• Work closely with the Mining shift boss to assess performance and identify improvements to maximise results, reduce risk and minimise wastage of consumables.
• Responsible for ongoing communication with supervisors.
• Responsible for processing of detailed daily reports to the supervisors and his oncoming shift.
• Responsible for housekeeping as per standard.
• Maintain work relationship with all working crews during shift hours.
• Responsible to safely operate the equipment.
• Actively promotes a safe and healthy culture.
• Demonstrates personal responsibility for own health and safety whilst setting clear expectations of relevant legal obligations, safe workplace practices and HSE operating practices to others, holding them accountable for their actions.
• Perform general housekeeping within and around responsible work area.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you

• Possess minimum Grade ten (10) certificate or PETT courses
• Mining Industry experience preferred.   
• How to determine whether the condition of safety equipment justifies immediate re-use, cleaning, routine maintenance, repair, calibration or scrapping
• Understand the hazards and risks associated with the handling, storage, cleaning, maintenance and repair of safety equipment
• Ability to read and write both Pidgin and English
• Must be able to understand the company’s targets and work towards achieving the targets.
• Have a strong understanding of the mining cycle.
• Flexible, adaptable and be a strong and proactive team player.
• Ability to meet agreed schedules and deadlines.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with other team members and K92 Mining Ltd employees.
