About the role
Ensure safe handling of the explosives to efficiently charge the blast holes in the development drilled face and stope holes.
Key / Major Accountabilities
Key accountabilities of this position include.
- Maintaining work relationship with all working crews during shift hours.
- ongoing communication with supervisors.
- Housekeeping as per standard.
- stope charging, stope mining and rise mining.
- Safe operation of the charging equipment
- handling explosives and assist in preparation for discharging explosives.
- Ensuring compliance to explosives act and the site explosive management plan.
About You
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have some or all the following.
- An active explosive handling permit.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar position.
- Very good understanding of the explosive management act/standards.
- Must have a good understanding in the different explosives.
- Must have a good understanding of sequencing and blast patterns and the delays.
- Ability to perform duties with minimum supervision.
- Ability to read, write and understand English
