About the role

In this role you will be joining the HR team and manage travel, accommodation and the Kumian Camp. You will work in a fast paced, collaborative environment across the business to drive adoption of innovative best practices, integrated processes, cost effectiveness and enhanced service for travel, accommodation and our growing camp facility. 

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

  • Process and maintain the travel & accommodation system.
  • Ensure ticket bookings for personnel are completed in a timely and cost-efficient manner through the travel provider and airlines.
  • Arrange travel and accommodation for authorised business travel.
  • Oversee and coordinate charter services and schedules including management of charter providers.
  • Review invoices from all travel providers and arrange for payment of the invoices through the accounts payable department.
  • Ensure all drivers of buses as well as the shuttle services are trained, licensed and comply with health and safety (including fatigue management), regulatory and legal requirements within Papua New Guinea.
  • Plan, schedule and manage payment of licenses and permits for light vehicle fleet in conjunction with the Maintenance Department.
  • Complete regular reconciliations of all sales returns for the airlines and travel providers.
  • Ensure the efficient provision of camp accommodation to residents of Kumian Camp.
  • Ensure Kumian Camp room inspections are completed in line with the annual plan.
  • Record and report any maintenance work required in Kumian Camp rooms and follow up with Maintenance and Camp Provider Teams to ensure defects have been corrected.
  • Ensure each room in Kumian Camp has the necessary information available within the room to assist camp residents with maintenance, medical and emergency services.
  • Identify opportunities to improve camp accommodation and facilities in camp to ensure Kumian Camp residents have a home away from home.
  • Ensure all services provided meet the required health regulations through the completion of regular reviews and audits. 
  • Book and coordinate accommodation bookings for personnel of K92 Mining.  
  • Ensure reporting requirements are delivered on time and accurate to prevent rework.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you are self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and have all or some of the following skills  

  • Tertiary qualification or qualifications in Travel will be advantageous
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in roles responsible for travel and accommodation.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage teams and to timeframes
  • Adaptable, resilient and strong emotional intelligence
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite especially excel.
  • Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
