Are you ready to launch your career in mining?
In 2026, K92 Mining will be running FOUR exciting, hands-on 12-month prevocational programs designed to give you the skills and knowledge you need to kick start a rewarding career in the Mining industry.
Four great options – the choice is yours.
Trades – Develop trade-specific skills and gain real-world experience in Electrical, Auto-Electrical, Mechanical, and Boiler-making disciplines. At the completion of the program, participants may be given the opportunity to work in one of these areas as an Apprentice or Trades Assistant.
Mining Services – This program provides participants with an exposure to different areas of underground mining operations.
Processing Services – This program provides participants with the skills needed to operate equipment associated with the crusher and batch plant.
Technical Services – This program will enable participants to develop skills in surveying, geology and geotechnical field work.
At the completion of the pre-vocational program participants may be assigned to one of these areas on a more permanent basis.
Where You’ll Be
Get ready to learn right on-site! both program takes place in the heart of our operational area, giving you real-world experience with all the machinery, equipment and challenges that come with mining.
As part of our commitment to the well-being of those on this transformative journey K92 will provide, on site accommodation and meals, as well as transport to and from work at the start and end of each work rotation.

You’ll get your very own Pre-Vocational Logbook to track your journey, mark milestones, and showcase all the skills you’re building along the way.
Do you qualify?
To be considered for the K92 Mining prevocational programs you must have as a minimum have completed grade 10 and be a member of a recognised family from one of the impacted communities of Bilimoia, Pomasi, Unantu or Watarais. Documented evidence of both of these will be required as part of your application.
Interviews & Aptitude Assessment
Selection interviews and assessments will then be held in Kainantu and on site. Those that are successful in securing a place on the program will commence on site in early 2026.
