K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate.

About the role

As we enter an exciting period of expansion at K92, we are seeking to add a Technical Specialist to our Processing Services division who would be responsible for managing the activities and resources of all Mobile Crushing & Screening, Batch Plant and Pastefill Preparation Plant activities.

Key / Major Accountabilities

• Driving and tracking the Processing Services unit activities to safely and efficiently meet both financial and physical budget targets.
• Developing and maintaining training competencies required to ensure adequate expertise and multi skilling across operating entities.
• Provide outstanding supervision and leadership to the Processing Services workforce by mentoring and guiding team members to achieve targets.
• Ensuring there are robust production systems in place and being effectively managed by the relevant personnel which includes systems for measuring product delivery and quality.
• Ensuring that required testing and quality control of all Processing Services products is conducted and that all products meet the required specification for final use.
• Implementing and assisting in the development of medium- and short-term operations plans.
• Ensure health and safety, and environmental performance meets or exceeds company and regulatory requirements.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

• Trade qualification would be desirable
• Operations experience with all aspects of a Mobile Crushing Plant (producing material of various sizes and quantities) and Batch Plant (i.e. producing shotcrete, builders concrete, agi and loader operations etc.)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Mobile Crushing Plant supervisor and experience with operating batch plants. 
• 10+ years relevant work experience.
• Previous experience operating in Papua New Guinea or developing countries in remote locations will be highly regarded.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.
• Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
