About the role

As part of the expansion of the Corporate Finance and Accounting team, we are hiring a Staff Accountant. This full-time role is based at our Vancouver head office and reports to the Manager of Accounting. Key responsibilities include 

• Accounts Payable Management – Oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time.
• Reconciliations & Reporting – Prepare bank and general ledger reconciliations, assist with weekly management reports, and contribute to quarterly financial statement preparation.
• Payroll Processing – Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll in compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
• Financial Controls & Compliance – Adhere to established financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure integrity and transparency in all transactions.
• Continuous Improvement – Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and actively support ad hoc financial projects as assigned.
• Accountability & Ownership – Take full responsibility for assigned tasks and deliver high-quality, accurate outputs within deadlines

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong financial acumen, accuracy, and a proactive approach to your work. You will also have:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Previous experience in accounting or accounts payable
• Mining or corporate experience is an advantage.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft 365 applications.
• CPA program enrollment or demonstrated interest in pursuing professional accounting qualifications is an asset.
