K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate.

About the role

Joining our newly created surface haulage department, in this role you will operate, load, unload and haul an ADT in the Surface Haulage Services (SHS) Department, while upholding the Company’s Code of Conduct, by displaying the appropriate work attitude and teamwork within the underground section by observing to and adhering to the workplace health & safety policies.

Preference will be given to recognised members of the mine impacted communities of Bilimoia, Unantu, Pomasi and Watarais. Recognised members of these communities who meet the selection criteria are encouraged to apply.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• This position reports to the Shift Supervisor and forms part of the Mining team accountable for providing effective hauling services
• Maintain good working relationship with colleague workers.
• Strong commitment to safety
• Responsible to operate articulated dump trucks.
• Responsible for house keeping
• Responsible for cleaning after use and checking before use

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have the following

• Minimum Grade eight (8) educational qualification, but preferable a Grade ten (10) certificate or PETT courses
• Possess PNG Class 6 and 7 driver license
• Has either underground or open cut mining work experience.
• Ability to read and write both Pidgin and English
• Ability to relate to mine workers comprises of different ethnic groups
• Must have at least 2 or more years of truck driving experience but also willing to train candidates with the right aptitude.
• Must be able to understand the company’s targets and work towards achieving the targets.
• Flexible, adaptable and be a strong and proactive team player.
• Ability to meet agreed schedules and deadlines.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with other team members and K92 Mining Ltd employees.
