K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

Field Technicians role is to support the Exploration Geologist in all field operations including RC drilling supervision, sample transportation and data collection while ensuring all safe work practices are followed within the current exploration lease areas in order to locate additional mineral occurrences. 

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Carry out required work as instructed by the exploration geologist and maintain optimum exploration reliability in the collection of quality and representative exploration samples.  
• Assist in implementing consistent compliance with set exploration sampling procedures to ensure that the tasks are carried out in a timely manner to the required safety and reliability standards 
• Effectively communicate on day-to-day exploration geology issues with the Senior Exploration Geologist to ensure that work priorities are implemented, and with other sections and work groups to develop effective working relationships. 
• Ensure exploration drilling and sampling is conducted by competent technicians in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures. 

About You

To be considered for this role, applicant must have 5 years or more experience as Field Assistant in exploration or mining environment. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.  

• Minimum Grade 10 Certificate
• Mature attitude, high moral principles and physical fitness are essential. 
• Able to read and write, and with well-developed communication skills in English and Tok Pisin. 
• Ability to think laterally and to be capable of field supervision, with the initiative and drive to effectively carry out field work as directed by the Superintendent Exploration Geologist. 
• Experienced in a wide range of exploration sampling and field techniques, their procedures, and quality control requirements. 
• Experience in exploration programs – grass roots to advanced. 
• Experience in liaising with landowner groups in negotiating for land access and general community relations issues. 
• Competent computer user. 
• Previous chainsaw safety training and experience highly commendable (please detail experience in your cover letter). 
• Candidate must reside in either Morobe, Eastern Highlands or Simbu provinces.
