K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

As our site goes through a period of rapid expansion, we are seeking a Site Services Superintendent who will oversee our site and camp expansion. You will manage multiple small-scale trades based contracts around camp and site which will ensure the seamless expansion of facilities and services to site. You will have experience managing trades and enjoy mentoring a highly enthusiastic and dedicated team of national staff.

Key / Major Accountabilities

• Maage multiple small scale maintenance and construction projects around site and camp
• Oversee team of national tradespeople on plumbing, welding and carpentry contracts
• Give direction, delegate tasks, and provide technical assistance to subordinates.
• Implement planned maintenance deadlines.
• Check on Purchase Orders and deliveries of materials for site works.
• Ensure cost control measures are considered by utilizing resources available to full capacity.
• Supervise and check on work crews daily.
• Report any hazards and incidents.
• Ensure training requirements are met.
• Organise and document weekly safety toolbox meetings.
• Regularly monitor and evaluate staff performance
• Provide coaching for performance improvement.
• Personally, responds to inquiries and complaints from the staff.
• Responds to emergency situations as necessary.
• Maintain safe work standards in accordance with government regulations and company policy.
• Perform all roles and responsibilities that support and reflect the company’s mission and core values.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

• Trade Qualifications, preferably Plumbing, Gas Fitting Carpentry or Equivalent
• 3 to 5yr Experience in Mining, Construction or other heavy industry
• Experience managing multiple small budget construction/maintenance contracts
• Promote and drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all legislative, company and personal HSE systems.
• Coach & mentor leaders and employees through visible HSE leadership.
• Ensure material operational risks are identified, assessed and mitigating actions developed, and controls implemented.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated and promote visible safety leadership
• 15+ years relevant work experience in similar management roles preferably in mining / remote construction operations.
