K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

This position is responsible for the service and maintenance of heavy underground equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. This includes Trucks, Drills, Front-end loaders, Dozers, Mobile cranes (45T & 100T), and other pieces of equipment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Undertaking scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance of the company's heavy vehicle fleet, including Sandvik, CAT and Normet vehicles and equipment.
  • Respond to machinery breakdowns promptly and undertake quality repairs in a timely manner.
  • Servicing and preventative maintenance on Jumbos, Loaders and Trucks.
  • Diagnosis and troubleshooting of faults, and recommending servicing interventions that improve the operational efficiency of the company's heavy vehicle fleet
  • Rectifying machinery breakdowns in an underground environment promptly and undertake quality repairs in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring completion of all shift paperwork including service sheets, work orders and daily shift reports.
  • Completing all JSA's, risk assessments and documentation to ensure all work is completed safely and as per schedule. 
  • Give direction, coaching and technical assistance to Trade Assistant’s and apprentice.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have a NATTB certified Trade Certificate in Heavy Equipment Fitting with 3+ years’ experience in mining environment or heavy construction industry. In addition to this, you will have

  • Experience with Mining Equipment like Drills, LHD Loaders, Caterpillar Equipment, Sandvik Equipment etc.
  • Experience fitter with hydraulics training background.
  • Experience in the use of Pronto will be advantageous.
  • Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
  • Actively promotes a safe and healthy culture.
