K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

Implementation and maintenance and transmitting of all Radio and Communications equipment both underground and surface mining area.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Inspect, isolate, and repair communication malfunctions using various test equipment, hand and power tools.
• Maintain asset register and ID of communication equipment.
• Adhere to Work Orders and Preventative Maintenance programs.
• Diagnose defects or hazards on systems, appliances and machinery, identify adjustments and repair in a timely manner reducing downtime on equipment.
• Ensure that alarms and emergency systems connected to the communication system onsite are always operational.
• Conduct regular checks and calibration on communication equipment.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you

• Possess Grades 10 or 12 certificate.
• Tele Communications and/or Communications training certificate
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ work experience on Communications work.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role and in Mining environment.
• The person shall have wide experience in the installation and maintenance of underground and surface communication systems, example or Leaky Feeder, Fibre Optic cable installation and connection, Digital Radio networks, anti-collision monitoring systems Servers, SCADA, monitoring systems for fan and pump starters, UPS and general power distribution systems, motor control centers.
