K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate. 

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

Responsible for operating the Jumbo in a safe and appropriate manner to carry out earth moving task as directed by the shift supervisor for general operations.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Safely operate Jumbo Drill as part of underground work plan pre task jobs.
• Assure working area is safe for men and equipment to perform working duties. This includes but is not limited to: check scaling, ensuring electrical installations and services are clear of drilling area, erecting barricades with signs where appropriate, and guarding against injury or damage when holes breakthrough.
• Drill holes to design line, gradient and profile.
• Perform daily safety prestart maintenance checks.
• Clean Jumbo as scheduled and/or required.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have 3 or more years' experience as Jumbo operator and have experience in operating Sandvik DD421 and DD422i. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Possess current Class 7 driver’s license.
• Must have at least 5 or more years of Jumbo Twin Boom Operation
• Must have Underground Mining experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
• Actively promotes a safe and healthy culture.
