K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

As we expand our underground operation, we seek to add a Senior Specialist – Paste, who will be responsible for the coordination, implementation, and optimization of paste plant operations and systems. This includes the installation, management and maintenance of the paste fill reticulation. The role also involves the Supervision and Training and upskilling of all National supervising crews

Key Accountabilities

• Provide technical input into infrastructure construction and installation of the paste fill reticulation system to support mining activities.
• Ensure infrastructure constructed to statutory regulations, company standards, and engineering best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve paste fill reticulation and infrastructure reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
• Evaluate and implement new technologies or methods to enhance paste fill reticulation infrastructure performance
• Training of Supervisors and Operators in safe and efficient construction of paste fill infrastructures.
• Assign tasks to Supervisors and paste fill operations crews as required.
• Ensure effective processes for communicating relevant information, including company, site, department, and team performance, to all team members are in place.
• Assist Project Engineers develop and maintain infrastructure layouts and schedules aligned with the life-of-mine plan
• Actively promotes a safe and healthy culture.
• Demonstrates personal responsibility for own health and safety whilst setting clear expectations of relevant legal obligations, safe workplace practices and HSE operating practices to others, holding them accountable for their actions.
• Conduct risk assessments and participate in hazard identification and mitigation processes.
• Support root cause analysis of infrastructure failures or incidents.
• Perform general housekeeping within and around responsible work area.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Behaviour consistent with K92 Mining’s Values.
• Strong understanding of underground mine paste fill infrastructure systems and exposure to mine infrastructure construction and installation projects.
• Mining operational experience and five plus (5+) years’ appropriate experience in a similar role.
• Previous experience operating in Papua New Guinea or developing countries in remote locations will be highly regarded 
• Sound knowledge of safe mining practices and standards in an underground mine.
• Proven multitasking skills and can work under extreme pressure.
• Good analytical and teamwork skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills as well as good organizational, administrative and multitasking skills.
