K92 Mining Limited are the owners of the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea — more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG — and our education and skills development initiatives significantly benefit the communities in which we operate.
We are now transforming the operation with a recently inaugurated 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across the site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the Role
The Principal Supply & Material is responsible for leading and managing all supply chain, procurement, logistics, and inventory functions to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and compliant supply of goods and services to support K92’s mining operations.
Key Accountabilities
Supplier Base Management & Reporting – Maintain an effective supplier base through regular contact, performance monitoring, and benchmarking. Analyse market conditions to identify cost efficiencies and strategic sourcing opportunities while reporting on overall supply chain performance.
Purchasing – Oversee end-to-end purchasing activities in alignment with business requirements and legislation. Maintain procurement systems and procedures within Pronto, ensuring full integration with financial, warehouse, and maintenance systems.
Supplier Contracts & Forward Pricing Agreements – Administer tenders, contracts, and FPAs to ensure compliance, accuracy, and value. Review and validate supplier agreements and provide recommendations for contract awards.
Import & Export – Support all import and export activities including compliance with PNG Customs regulations, permits for dangerous goods, and coordination of escorts or inspections to ensure safe and timely deliveries.
Inventory Control – Manage stock levels to ensure continuous supply to operations while preventing overstocking and obsolescence. Oversee cataloguing, stocktakes, and the secure storage of all inventory in line with company standards.
QA & Compliance – Ensure all materials meet business, safety, and quality standards. Maintain documentation, handling procedures, and compliance with safety regulations across all procurement and warehouse activities.
Leadership – Lead, coach, and mentor the Supply Chain team to build capability and foster a high-performance culture. Promote a safe and healthy work environment, ensure effective communication across the department, and identify talent for development and succession.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring solid supply chain experience within the mining or heavy industrial sector, strong commercial and analytical skills, and the ability to lead teams in a dynamic operating environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.
• Substantial experience in supply chain management, preferably in mining or metals extraction operations.
• Strong understanding of procurement, inventory control, logistics, and contract management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Pronto ERP systems will be an advantage.
• Experience working in Papua New Guinea or other developing/remote environments.
