About the role

In this role you will provide specialist advice and support in Auto Electrical mobile equipment servicing and repairs to our team of national technicians. This rewarding role will see you provide daily mentoring, guidance, instruction, and training to the national workforce to increase the overall mobile maintenance capability and capacity within a motivated and talented department.

Key Accountabilities

  • Proactively engage with the area supervisors to provide technical advice and support to the Mobile Equipment Teams to ensure fleet availability and reliability targets are achieved and optimised against budget.
  • Respond to routine and emergency calls for repair, service and/or support within the mine site area, underground or in the field as required to ensure downtime on equipment is minimised.
  • Give direction, delegate tasks and provide technical assistance to subordinates.
  • Liaise with senior maintenance leadership on planned maintenance.
  • Maintain stock levels and place orders as required.
  • Ensure cost control measures are considered by utilizing resources available to full capacity.
  • Report and rectify any hazardous sightings to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent in the 800L workshop.
  • Ensure training requirements are met.
  • Organise and document weekly safety toolbox meetings workshop safety representatives.
  • Regularly monitors and evaluates staff performance in consultation with Mobile Maintenance Superintendent.
  • Provide coaching for performance improvement.
  • In conjunction with mobile maintenance superintendent, takes disciplinary action to address performance deficiencies, in accordance with the Company’s rules, policies and procedures.
  • Personally, responds to inquiries and complaints from the employees.
  • Responds to emergency situations as necessary.
  • Carry out other relative duties as directed by the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent.
  • Maintain safety work standards in accordance with government regulations and company policy.
  • Perform all roles and responsibilities that support and reflect the company’s mission and core values.

 

About You

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant trade qualification in Auto Electrical and Automation. Minimum Certificate III required.
  • 10+ years relevant work experience essential.
  • Previous experience operating in Papua New Guinea or developing countries in remote locations will be highly regarded.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of: DD421 Jumbos, DD422i Jumbo, DL421 Production Drills, DL431 Production Drills, DS421 Cable Bolting, LH517i Loaders, LH621i Loader, TH545i Trucks, TH663i Trucks
  • Experience with “I” Series Drilling Equipment (DD422i) would be an advantage but not essential..
  • Knowledge of “Auto Mine” control systems an advantage.
  • General knowledge of CAT underground equipment would also be an advantage but not essential.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Experience in the use of Pronto will be advantageous.
  • Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
  • Actively promotes a safe and healthy culture.
